With so many breweries in the city, Life is brewing well for Bangaloreans.

alcohol 3634581 1920Joining this bandwagon is Simon Says , the newly opened Bangalore’s first-ever retro wave-inspired microbrewery at Koramangla , the heart of food scene in the city.

Based on rough crude industrial-style theme with lot of retro style lights and neons and rustic dull yet looking furniture complimenting the theme , this latest offering from the owners of popular restaurants , The Black Pearl and The Boozy Griffin, will certainly enthral its guests with blend of great funky music with screening of videos all over.

The menu is quite elaborate for the place , I feel , as we ordered lot of dishes during our visit few weeks back. We started off with Paneer Kulfi Kabab , delicious and appetising , along with sweet pepper Bruschetta, baked coloured pepper tossed with pesto topping on roasted bread ,little big piece for the bite , wish it was half the size for the ease of eating. Loved the desi Chinese flavours of Green Chilli Chicken while my vegetarian friends enjoyed the babycorn satay , that came next to our table. Our immense inquisitiveness made us order the crispy rumali roti , worthy successor to traditional huge masala papad that goes well with drinks. We also ordered half and half peri peri pizza and spanish pizza and my all time favourite rustic aglio olio pasta, but both failed to impress us. The Bengal influenced fish baton marinated with Kasundi, served with spicy mayo, delighted the bengali in me. The desi mains , mutton curry with rice and roti ,were truly satiating.

During our meal , we tried their beers , six of them to be precise, the Saison , Belgian wit ,IPA , hefeweizen, oatmeal stout and the English bitter. Not a beer connoisseur, but I loved the wit and saison the most. Others also tried their cocktails , sanguine surise and whiskey sour.

Ther dessert, flaming jamoon looks spectacular in the dark while tiramisu and brownie are decently good for a place where people come for good drinks and food.

Simon Says Brew Works is indeed a promising entrant to Brew way of life.
