Once a local stop for condiments that started in 1977 , Veena Stores has now evolved into one of the must visit breakfast places in Malleshwaram area of Bangalore. Die hard favourite of most locals including the popular film actress , Deepika Padukone and her family love to visit this place for south Indian breakfast.

So if your wondering , what should be ordered here, we started with their super soft,melt in a mouth fluffy steaming idlis served with unlimited servings of delicious mint infused coconut chutney. And followed it with their vadas ,super crispy and soft inside. My quest for best shavige bath in the city has ended here as this regional vermicelli breakfast dish topped with crunchy peanuts & vegetables julienne , seasoned with bit of rock salt stole my heart. My sojourns here always end with a “swalpa-strong-kodi Kaapi”.

With looks of an ordinary grocery store, this place could be easily missed by most but thanks to long ques everyday outside the store early in the morning , I could thankfully figure out my Sunday idly destination. As there is no seating facility and with usually large surge of crowd , eating here is culinary penance. But mind my words, the rewards are very satisfying here.
