Restaurant Review: Taste of Pan asian food at Shao , Radisson Blu , Marathalli, Bangalore | India
The pan asian food is the flavour of the city these days and I am not surprised at all.
The fad for dim sums , sushis , ramens and others is ever growing , so is the love of korean and malay food.Yesterday , I saw the news of how Bangkok , one of my favourite city , has overtaken Paris and others as the most visited destination in the world.
Shao , the signature restaurant at Radisson Blu , erstwhile Park Plaza , has been known for its good offerings from the best of Chinese, Thai, Japanese and Korean cuisines. Set in a ambience that reminds of traditional Japanese fine dining , the menu is extensive and offers range of dishes in ala carte and set menu format.
The Crab & asparagus soup is the best way to kick-start the meal , and for those there is a feast for dim sum lovers too , with array of potstickers and shao mai to enthrall the palate along with steamed Har gow and dumplings.
The treat awaits here for those who are fond of lobsters. We just loved their Lobster Cantonese style and Omani Rock lobster , great looking and flavourful with good portion too. They also have traditional Peking Duck , but we could not try it last time. The Porkoholics will relish their BBQ Pork ribs and Roasted Pork Belly while there is stir fried tenderloin in szechwan sauce for meat connoisseurs.
They also serve freshly prepared assorted Sushi aesthetically in boats and we ended up having three of those. The mains are equally fabulous , i felt, with little tweaking of flavors to suit the local palate, but that’s acceptable and understandable.But I am thoroughly impressed by their lavish menu.Even the vegetarians will love dining here.
