Living up to the expectations of India’s vision of Make in India , the Liquor maverick , Vijay Rekhi , the man who once steered the United Spirits to its glory, is now a proud founder of UniBev, spirits company that blends Indian grain with 12-year and 18-year scotch, a first in the country.

In partnership with one of the largest alcohol producer Globus Spirits, , UniBev focuses primarily on the tastes of global Indian , as a part of a strategy to disrupt India’s niche alcohol segment with better world class offerings.

Today we are going to try three of their deluxe offerings,namely the L’Affaire Napoleon Premium Brandy , Oakton Barrel Aged Rare Premium Grain Whisky and Governor’s Reserve blended grain Whisky.

L’Affaire Napoleon Premium Brandy

L’Affaire Brandy, true to its name, is fine brand affair with classic blend of the finest 3 year old brandy from the famous grape growing regions of France and Indian grape spirits, using the traditional ‘Pot Still’ method,

In pot still type of distillation , Still is used to distil alcoholic spirits such and operate on a batch distillation basis unlike the Coffey or column stills which operate on a continuous basis.

OAKTON premium grain whisky

This barrel aged rare premium grain whisky is a unique blend with upto 18 year old imported scotch and matured Indian malts.

Oakton is harmonious, crisp and lingers on the palate resulting in a smooth fruity aftertaste. The preponderance of premium malts with hints of dried apricot, walnut, citrus, cloves as well as pleasing honey, toffee, vanilla and cinnamon delicately combine to create a complex yet invigorating medium-bodied whisky balanced with flavours of mild oak and peat.

Priced at INR 1400 for a 750 ml , One could experience hints of international Scotch whisky in this premium whiskey brand.

GOVERNERS RESERVE Premium Grain Whiskey

This 100% premium grain whisky is a carefully crafted blend with up to 12 year old imported scotch and matured Indian malts.

The tasting notes reveal a light bodied, smooth blend with the sweetness of honey and raisin delicately balanced by vanilla and fruity notes. One could also experience gentler hints of spices and peat present that adds to its rich complexity and unique flavour.

These UniBev premium brands are available in Karnataka – Bangalore, Mangalore, Mysore, Hubali, Davangere etc. Telangana and Puducherry. They will be launched in the state of Andhra Pradesh by mid September 2018.
