Restaurant Review : Monsoon Brunch at JW Kitchen ,Bangalore | India

Read Time:2 Minute, 22 Second

A refreshing weekend experience: compelling, world cuisine semi-fine dining brunch with live music that tests the realms of Bangalore’s culinary scene

Nothing amuses me more on a lazy Sunday morning than a delightful feast in the afternoon with some good wine and great music. The idea of lavish Sunday Brunch for me is all about having good time with loved ones.

The concept of Brunch probably dates back to 16th century Vienna , where the tradition of a combined breakfast-lunch meal was started by Austrians called Gabelfruhstuck meaning fork breakfast.

But the food theory that looks more acceptable to me , believes that the concept of brunch started in elite British society and then it was adopted by Americans.

Rated as one of the best in Bangalore , JW Kitchen at JW Marriott Hotel Bengaluru has bought special rain soaked Sunday Brunch to celebrate arrival  of monsoon in the city. The lavish global spread includes with array of pure classics from India and beyond , like fish and chips, dimsums, hot soups, steamed corn, pakodas and samosas, live counters and much more.

Every Sunday , they also showcase one of the signature restaurants at JWM and it was Spice Terrace turn this time , the picturesque poolside signature Indian Kitchen with Microbrewery. One of my favourite at JW for its regional specialities with a modern twist and award winning Belgian craft beers. The Kamal Kakdi Tikki and Angara Dum Murgh were part of pop up menu.

For those who like to be entertained during lavish Sunday brunch, the LIVE music at JW Kitchen is bound to delight them.

Among the many stations , worth mentioning were the Japanese Donburi Station where freshly prepared chicken version of Katsudon was served. Very popular Japanese dish, it is a bowl of rice topped with a deep-fried pork cutlet, egg, vegetables, and condiments, and is named from the Japanese words tonkatsu and donburi.

There was Bombay Dosa Station where Schezwan, Chutney, Mysore & Cheese stuffed dosas were being served. The Bengalees would love to try Chicken, Fish and Vegetable Chops at the Kolkatta Chop Station.

The Pasta lovers here , must head to  Homemade Pasta Station where made to order delicious homemade Lamb Ravioli & Homemade spaghetti by the chefs.

I could see lot of Indian chaat lovers at the chaat Station to relish the Dahi Bhalla, Ragda Pattice, Papdi Chaat among others.

For those with sweet tooth and kids , the most popular attraction is the dessert buffet which extends itself into the Candy Wall, created especially for little guests. From Fairies and Knights to Super Heroes they have got them all.
