Restaurant Review : “Plating Traditions” at KAVA, Fairfield by Marriott , ORR,Bengaluru

Thali is the best way of having Indian food with course prohibited dining experience. 

To cater to lunch goers in and around Marathalli ORR,  The KAVA, Fairfield by Marriott , ORR,Bengaluru has introduced a Thali , “Plated Traditions”. Curated by Executive Chef Sudhir Nair,It serves array of south Indian delicacies , in a Thali , suited for both vegetarian and non-vegetarian palates.

The Kava 

It is the all day dining coffee shop that serves International and Indian cuisines for breakfast , lunch and dinner.

The Menu

Available for Lunch only , I went to Kava to try their Thali with my colleague. This was my maiden visit to restaurant Kava at ORR , though I have been to their Rajajinagar property couple of years ago.The setting was traditional and had a festive feel. There were of lot of live counters and dishes were displayed in a traditional south Indian way. I could see Filter Kapi counter among others too. 

The menu here is a rotational one and keeps changing regularly  with dishes from the southern states of Karnataka, Tamil Nadu , Kerala and twin states of Andhra & Telengana. Here’s how our Thali menu looked like that day.

The Chef

Chef Sudhir Nair has recently joined Courtyard by Marriott Bengaluru Outer Ring Road and Fairfield by Marriott Outer Ring Road as the Executive chef

An accomplished culinary professional with 17 years of experience, he has earlier worked with several iconic brands such as Bukhara, Dum Pukht and Ottimo at Westview at ITC Maurya in New Delhi.

The Verdict

The Lunch Thali at Kava is certainly a boon for the corporate Lunch seekers, especially from the southern part of India. The pricing is perfect, however the portioning is bit more I felt , as I could not finish the entire meal that day. The food is undoubtedly delicious and entire setting is fabulous. 

The Lunch Thali is priced at INR (Vegetarian) 595 & INR 695 (non-vegetarian)
