Farzi Cafe – experience the food wizardry
Farzi Cafe is one restaurant that has been making waves since its inception in the Bengaluru dining scene last year. The recipient of several prestigious awards, it is known for its innovative modern Indian cuisine, exquisite flavors with unique presentation. In-fact It has never failed to amaze me each time I have visited the place, providing me fresh delightful experience.
“It is certainly the fantasy food destination of Bengaluru”
A food venture by Zorawar Kalra, the Masterchef 2017 Judge and son of legendary culinery genius, Jiggs Kalra, the Farzi Café has been the recipient of several prestigious awards including the Times Food Awards and the Eazy Diner Food awards. Located in the heart of the city at the poshest Bengaluru Mall, UB City, it is known its innovative modern Indian cuisine and Bangalore’s nightlife during weekends.
Having visited this place many times earlier, I was here again last week for the tasting of their newly unveiled menu. Since I was not able to make it on the new menu launch day, my inquisitiveness for the same was near its peak in anticipation. I knew that this is going to be one sumptuously exciting food affair.
We chose to be seated at the outer open area with the magnificent sight of now iconic UB towers & fountains on the side. The entire view is even better during the evenings though it gets crowded especially on a weekends. The guests also have an options of being seated in 3-4 seater middle-eastern style private Bedouin tents and inner restaurant section.
( Grenny Mint Royal , Litchi Panna Lemonade & Strawberry Lemonade)
The Bar in the middle, I must say, enhances the vibrant cafe. The Bartenders whom I prefer calling them Bar Jugglers behind the counter ensure there is never a dull moment while preparing drinks and mixing cocktails from the impressive list.
Since none of us was a avid drinker, we just ordered the Bubbling LIIT along with few exotic array of mocktails like Grenny Mint Royal , Litchi Panna Lemonade & Strawberry Lemonade to accompany our food.

“The menu here is unique, creative and experimental. I would call it a simply Fantastical”
The food at Farzi Cafe can be best described as the progressive Indian cuisine that has been revitalized by molecular gastronomical and deconstructive culinary techniques with out of box visual presentation , thus enhancing the gourmet experience and taking it to another level.
“Best described as a gourmet experience, it amalgamates traditional global and Indian classics, with Indian influences, contemporary presentations, culinary styles and ambiance.” Source – Farzi Cafe
Achtung : It sometimes becomes difficult to select from its appealing menu , meticulously developed in what I would prefer to call as a ” Gourmet Lab ” called Farzi Cafe. There are wide array of dishes with comestible twists like the Gujrati Dhokla & Farsan Salad , the Rajasthani Ghewar Malai Tart or the Bheja fry with Kerala Appam , to name few.
If you ask me , I would suggest you to visit this cafe and get invigorated with its wholesome and piquant gastronomical experience, rarely available in India.
