“
Situated in midst of greens, aesthetically beautiful Thai villa , in the heart of bangkok, that serves traditional dishes from the royal kitchen and the bygone era. That’s Bo Lan for me.
”
Rated as 19th best among Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants this year , Bo.Lan is one of the best authentic Thai fine dining restaurant of Bangkok. This “essentially Thai” place was conceptualised by chef couple after they met at Nahm, UK.years ago.
I was always sure that this place deserves the “michelin star” whenever it happens in Thailand. And I’m delighted to know this is now a “One MICHELIN Star” for its authentic Thai cooking.

As per the Chef Lan , they believe in greater social responsibility. And therefore, they are working closely with the local farmers sourcing local Thai ingredients for its ever changing menu with a goal of being zero carbon restaurant in the future.
‘Bo.Lan balance’ -the Chef’s signature menu here comprises of 5 elementary dishes, namely a refreshingly Thai salad, a lip smacking chilli relish, a stir-fry , a curry and a soup. However, Chef may add more dishes to elevate the dining experience.
The Ambiance
Now housed in a bigger scenic greener place in beautifully interior-ed old style furnished bungalow with a pool and outdoor garden patio at Sukhumvit Soi 53 near Thong Lor,the Bo.Lan’s magnificent interiors were truly mesmerising, giving it a feel of rich elegant dining place.
Bo.lan was founded on the belief that the best Thai restaurants should be found In Thailand. With that in mind the two chefs Duangporn Songvisava and Dylan Jones started Bo.lan. The name Bo.lan comes from Chef Duangporn’s nickname Bo and the second half of Dylan’s name Lan. (source:Bo.Lan website)

The meal started with the amuse bouche od sea weeds and other ingredients.
Then and now: Thai-born chef Duangporn ‘Bo’ Songvisava and Australian-born chef Dylan ‘Lan’ Jones met at David Thompson’s erstwhile London outpost Nahm.
