Asia Alive , the premium pan-Asian restaurant at Double Tree by Hilton, also known for serving exquisite global cuisine.During the month of October, they organised a north Indian food festival ” Flavours of North” to showcase the finest culinary dishes from the kitchens of Kashmir, Punjab, Rajasthan,Delhi and Lucknow to its patrons.I was fortunate to be invited for the special tasting with Debolina, another acclaimed foodie from the city.
We started with some beautifully presented array of starters. The delectable Sunehri Seekh Kabab and Khumb Paneer Tikki were the must haves for anyone who relishes the vegetarian food.I would pick the former over the later here.
Being a die hard meat lover, succulent and flavorsome Murgh Angara tikka was my clear winner. I would have ordered them again but there was lot many exciting dishes waiting to be savored.
On the other hand ,I did not find the Hari Mirch aur Pudhine ka Machi zesty enough to stimulate my taste-buds.I found it less flavorful for my palate.
Next pit stop of our culinary journey was the famous Dilli ke Paranthe. We were served assorted range of hot alu , gobhi and paneer filled paranthas, served with relishes and yogurt.
Though there was lot on offer at the huge buffet spread, I was already feeling too full.So I decided to be choosy for the main course. But I would like to share the menu with you.
Vegetarian Mains : Paneer ki Kurchan, Heeng aur Dhaniye ke chatpate aloo, Matar ka Nimona,Makai Palak, Mevadar Kofta curry, Gatta curry, Jammu ke Rajmah, Dal Maharani, Subz Zaffraani Pulao and Steamed rice
Non Vegetarian: Dahi wala Murgh, Laal Maas, Khade Masale ka Meat, Fish Tikka Masala and Mughlai Murgh Biryani
After going through the various options in the main course, I decided to have their Laal Maas for two reasons. One, It belong to my home state Rajasthan and two, it was looking too good to resist. The taste was amazing with right balance of flavors and spices. The mutton was tender enough to leave the bone effortlessly. I love it with fresh tandoori roti. I wish they include it in their regular menu.
There was also a live counter that was serving freshly made Choley Bhaturey and Live desserts like Rabdi Falooda and Jalebi with Rabdi. I opted for jalebi with rabdi and it was truly satiating.
The regular buffet items were also included as part of the festival. There were chat counters and desserts stations too.
Raj Kachori
The desserts on offer as part of festival were Besan Laddu,Gajar Ka Halwa, Barfi, Chenna Kheer, Chandrakala, Gol Malai , Pistachio rasmalai pastry and cut fruits.
Chandrakala
Goli Malai
Khajur ki Barfi
Besan Laddu

Priced at INR 1099 ++ , this festival menu was indeed a feast for the food lovers of northern region. You can always enjoy their regular buffet at INR 999 ++ all round the year.
