Restaurant Review : The Grand Breakfast at 12th Main , Grand Mercure,Bangalore

We all know that the first meal of the day ,Breakfast, is also the most important one.Therefore it’s necessary that it should be both healthy and interesting.

Under the culinary expertise of Chef Gopal Jha and his team, the 12th Main at Grand Mercure has recently introduced the new breakfast menu in buffet with the sole purpose of serving dishes that are more nutritious and visually appealing and has new flavours to offer to its guests.

The new pre-plated breakfast menu offers wide variety of from the world cuisines and fusion dishes.

This Sunday , we visited their signature restaurant , 12th Main , to try their new Grand Breakfast Menu with some of my friends.

Some of the breakfast dishes we ordered were the 12th Main Club that had
Multigrain bread, gruyere cheese, ham slice, Sauerkraut, white and dark shitake, potato ham & egg mustard salad, tomato confit , the Californian Breakfast Benedict with Brioche slice, wilted spinach with nutmeg, tomato slice, avocado, poached egg, hollandaise sauce, potato roastie, seasonal fruits.

For those who love best of both worlds (read Beef & Pork ), they ordered the Bagels at 12th main that has the mouth watering pulled pork with apple slaw and tomato paprika, scrambled eggs and thyme, & deliciously flavoured paprika beef with a fresh tomato salsa and homemade hot sauce

The omelette lovers like me will definitely enjoy the towering mega Spanish omlette with nachos with spicy salsa that has potato, pepper & onion egg cake served with nachos, spicy salsa & cheese dip.

Wait there is something for the Indian food lovers , there is the South Indian tiffin with assortment of South Indian delicacies accompanied with three chutneys & sambar and the North Indian tiffin with assortment of north Indian delicacies accompanied with sabji, pickle & curd.

Calorie watchers should go the Granola with nuts, fruits & baked yoghurt
that has bowl of honey roasted oats & corn flakes served with baked yogurt, fruits & mix nuts while the dessert lovers should certainly try their Tower Pancake or Waffles ,the slow cooked shaped cake served with seasonal fruits, maple syrup and ice cream.

My Take

The Grand Breakfast that is available 7 days a week at 12th Main , is a value deal as it comes along with the breakfast buffet priced around INR 800 ++.
What impressed me most was the entire concept of breaking the monotony of ‘typical’ breakfast and replacing it with delicious and nutritious dishes. The elements used in each of these dishes is quite impressive and shows the hard work done by the kitchen team.

Majority of dishes have huge portion size and plating is very impressive. Most of the dishes included in the menu represent the global and fusion cuisine , thus making it universally appealing.Overall it is a steal deal and I would like you to try it too and share your experience with me.
