The latest offering of Dayal group, Urban Tamaasha is an elegant casual dining restaurant in Bangalore.Located on 100 feet road , Indiranagar ,Urban Tamaasha offers range of contemporary north Indian cuisine dishes with conventional flavours and twists.

Dayal Group is a well known hospitality group of the steel city with business interests in Jamshedpur , kolkata and Bangalore. They had the privilege of opening first ever pub , Double Down at Jamshedpur.

The Menu

With the concept of modern Indian kitchen, the elaborate menu offers soups and salads from around the world , extensive range of appetisers from authentic Indian to Asian and European dishes, mains from the global kitchen and sinful range of desserts, making it a perfect place to experience culinary delights in the heart of the city with some some interesting mocktails. They do not server liquor at the restaurant. The menu has a fascinating blend of classic and modern dishes from the world over.

I was here to try their prefixed menu meant for the occasion. It was predominantly north Indian with bit of Asian and continental , we began with Dragon roll , Dahi Kabab , maushroom nazakath and Tawa paneer from their vegetarian options. The Dahi kabab stole my heart with its delicately balanced impressive flavours. Dynamite chicken was the pick of the lot among the non vegetarian appetisers that included smoked pepper chicken , beer battered fish and tandoori jhinga. From their mains options . we selected the Bengali delicacy , Egg Dal Tadka , Dal Makhani , Bhuna Gosht and Dal Bhukhara. The Egg Dal tadka that I tried after nearly 2 decades was clear winner among the mains while others did not met my expectations. Desserts we tried were indeed good with their in-house brownie was liked by one and all at our table. Some of them were wanted to even pack the A cheery, fudgey dark chocolate fudge back home.

Last word

Good place to frequent for the North Indian khana but I feel they need to work upon some of the dishes as they are sweet for north Indian palate and lacked that spice punch. For those who love to have more options while dining , they also have a buffet priced at INR 399 plus tax.
