When I think of good smoked meats , I think of Smoke Co.

It has been one year since The Smoke Company came into existence with a concept that was not so familiar to most of bangaloreans.

Conceptualised by Gautam Krishnankutty, and Padmakumar , the aim has been to serve choicest of smoked meat recipes , european style Charcuterie and latin american barbecue, in a relaxed fine dining place. I still remember that they started with a small custom made double barrel smoker but soon they graduated to the #1 BBQ stick burner smoker cookers, Lang BBQ Smokers. Known for the durable wood burning smoker cookers and charcoal grills essentials, they make ideal choice here , feels Chef Altaf Patel.

Under his aegis, they have recently launched the new menu to commemorate their first year anniversary of inception. Here’s what we tried from their new menu.

Platter of Charcuterie (cured and aged  jamón,( the thin pink and white meat)  mortadella with olives  ( which is stuffed with olive) ,  Salted & cured beef, Smoked mackerel, Soppressata pork salami ( the only one that looked like sliced sausage  ) 

Char sui pork fillet– sous vide char siu pork fillet finished on wood-fire. served with buttered cauliflower purée, radish celery pickle and char siu glaze.

Smoked prawns- Brined and smoked prawns in the shell served with a mustard and chilli cocktail sauce.

Cheddar & zucchini  cakes – Corn crusted fried zucchini and cheddar cakes served with a duo of smoked tomato chilli sauce and classic tartar .

Barley bean and corn salad – barley, red bean and corn tossed in mangalore jaggery and lime vinaigrette with arugula, pomegranate and toasted pumpkin seeds.

Main course

Smoked platter ( Italian fennel and pepper pork sausage , chicken and coriander, beef chilli & cheese,  pork apple & sage  chicken kielbasa )

Tuna poke bowl – Fresh maguro tuna seasoned with soy sauce and sesame oil served on top of sticky rice, avocado, grilled pineapple and mesclun.

Corned beef- Dark beer braised corned beef. served with creamed potato, roasted leeks and sourdough toast.

Soy honey chicken – Soy brined and honey roasted chicken served with sticky rice, shiitake mushrooms and bok choy.

Schnitzel  – Panko crusted butterflied and fried pork chop served with brown butter & sage spätzle and mustard cream sauce.

Desserts- Churros With chipotle chocolate sauce.

With vibrantly classy interiors, elevated ceiling and glassy exteriors , the place is must visit for indulgent meat lovers and connoisseurs.
