Restaurant Review : The Fat Chef , Whitefield, Bangalore | India
“
Have you ever wondered there is place in Whitefield where you can have a romantic candle lit wine dinner with your loved one ?
”
Well there is indeed one , I know , for all those love to spend the romantic moments at a tranquil place with a candle-lit al fresco slow dinner with their love in rejuvenated loving light.
In the middle of busy Whitefield , I went to the The Fat Chef , the dine-in restaurant that serves popular global cuisine. Situated next to the popular centre of performing arts , Jagriti Theater, this place has both inside and al fresco dining options , and is surrounded by residential apartments. I loved its relaxing laid back interiors and I am sure they will charm you too when you visit.
We opted for their outdoor seating , close to flora and fauna in midst of concrete IT hub.
On the adjacent table, I could see a family celebrating their son’s birthday as one of the staff played “Happy Birthday” on guitar. A very heart warming gesture indeed by The Fat Chef and I am sure the the little boy will remember this whole of his life.
The Food
The food menu ,as I had mentioned earlier , has a global influence. While browsing through their well made menu , I could see some interesting soups and salads in the beginning, and we tried the Moroccon roasted Pumpkin and Parmesan soup , the healthy looking local millet inspired Hearty Chicken Soup with Barley , the Prawn and feta rocket Salad and vegetarian Beetroot and feta cheese salad.
We ordered few appetisers too. The cheese lovers would surely love the herbed mozzarella fritters that we had.Served with the tangy mustard dip , we really loved the combination. Having the Jalpeno tartlets topped with spinach and fresh mozzarella was pure delight for my vegetarian friend.
Among the must haves for meat lovers is the deliciously juicy grilled T-Bone grilled and served with accompaniments like the rosemary potatoes and béarnaise sauce. I loved most prized cuts of beef here i.e. tender fillet on one side and flavoursome sirloin steak on the other side.
We wrapped with some good desserts from the menu. My friend , a dessert lover ,chose the best sellers from the menu , the New York Cheese Cake and the Banoffee Trifle and that indeed was a fabulous sweet ending for us.
Before I forget to tell you , they have some good collection of wine and beverages to make your meal even more memorable.
Summary
During our visit , we felt that The Fat Chef has lot of potential to be a culinary destination for local populace from Whitefield. We particularly liked their al fresco seating with lot of positive dining vibes. The menu is surprisingly good with lot of great offerings. Service too matches their culinary prowess. I would recommend this place.
