“Sublime House of Tea” from Prestige – Trousseau Week
It was beautiful Friday evening and the stage was set for the exclusiveTea Extravaganza at Bangalore’s most happening scene at UB city. I was one of the invitees to the “Sublime from Prestige” – Trousseau Week.
The well decorated gazebo showcased the best of gourmet tea collections from the Sublime’s treasure in midst of mesmerising live music.
We were hosted by the pretty and dynamic, Uzma Irfan, Executive Director, Prestige Group and Founder, Sublime Galleria. She started ‘Sublime House of Tea’, in 2013 and is promoted by the Prestige Group. She is also founder of Sublime Galleria that provides the platform for various artists to showcase their work. She believes fine art forms are a cultural heritage and must be kept alive.
During the chat with her, She also told us about her passion for fine arts and how the Sublime Galleria has provided the platform for them to display their work. She has always advocated that the fine art is an integral part of our rich culture and must be kept alive and accessible to the society.
Leading us through the entire tea journey; she enlightened us on their various gourmet teas that have been pioneered by Sublime teas.
The first offering to us was the scintillating “Seventh Heaven”. Every sip of it made me savour its delightful fruity bouquet and pleasing aroma. This wonderful tea has been made from the handpicked Black Tea Leaves from Nigiris, instilled with natural aromas and freeze dried tropical fruit.Surprisingly it can be served both hot and cold.
Green Long Ding was the next tea to be served to us.As the name aptly suggests, this is a pure Green Tea made from fresh tender long tea leaves, carefully treated and rolled using a distinct method. The flavours apart from being immensely healthy, were delicate and enriching.
Next on the list was what I would call “tea extraordinaire “.Every sip of the Jasmine Mandarin tea was reminiscent of its subtle bouquet of natural aromas and jasmine floral infused in the choicest of handpicked green tea leaves .Indeed a Tea” extraordinaire”.
Adding international sense to the Sublime Tea Treasure is the “Moroccan Mint “.We were told that this is a ceremonial tea served to the guest by the Head of the house. This is composed by flavoring the peculiar green tea leaves called ‘gunpowder tea” with the mint. However, It should not be confused with the peppermint tea.Highly energising and revitalising, I would prefer to have this after a hectic days work.
Adding to the Sublimes’ exquisite collection of teas was the White Tea with Raspberry. Truly a connoisseur’s delight, it is a lightly oxidized and processed tea and is known for higher antioxidants properties than the green tea. The flavor was delightfully fruity yet subtle with blending of raspberry and thus making it a great post noon drink.
Sipping herbal tea can indeed be a rosy affair with “Roses in Bloom” flavour. Inspired by the Persian rose gardens and amalgamated with rose-petals, liquorice, fennel, aniseed, black pepper, white pepper and nutmeg, this is a truly herbal tea. Known for its digestive benefits and cooling effects, this herbal essence can be had, either hot or chilled.
It was indeed a wonderful journey through the Subime House of Teas where we were enlightened with numerous varieties of tea flavors I had never tasted
