Serafina - Gateway to North Italian food

It was Day Four of the brand new year 2015. And here I was in august company of Suresh Hinduja , one of the prominent food personalities of Bangalore along with few good foodies to have the north Italian Sunday Brunch at Serafina.

I would also like to share the intersting fact about Serafina.Believe it or not the concept of Serafina was conceptualized while Vittorio Assaf and Fabio Granato were stranded at sea in a small boat .It was here they fantasized about creating the perfect pizza.

The Serafina idea and awesome partnership was born using the Fabio’s architectural skills to construct a revolutionary oven and Vittorio’s artistry in Neapolitan Italian cuisine, Finally it was in year 1995, the highly acclaimed Serafina Fabulous Pizza was born in USA.

It now has restaurants in 6 countries across 10 cities across the globe. In India, they are located at Mumbai and Bangalore.

The Serafina Bangalore is situated at kormangla and has two levels of dining space both with the proviso of indoor and outdoor seating. The ambiance reminded me of my visit to Italy few years ago. The place has subtle glimpses of Italian influences.

The Brunch here has wide array of delectable spread. It included Soups ; freshly baked breads, divine looking Dips, fresh and hard Cheese selections , freshly prepared vegetarian and non-vegetarian Italian salads and Accompaniments like Apple mostarda, chilly relish etc.

One can order Vegetables Lasagne, Chicken and olives in creamy spinach, Parsley Potatoes, Sautéed vegetables for the main course.

The desserts were amazing with collection of Chocolate Tarts, Black Forrest Gateaux, Cornettis, Macarons, Mince Pie, Fresh strawberry muffins, Orange mousse wedges, Kourembiethes cookies to name the few.

Our instant favorites were Canapes – Arancini, Gnocchi aglio olio, Chicken and vegetable sliders, Bacon wrapped banana, Calamari, Gamberi Fritti, Beet meatballs from the Main kitchen.

They also have live counter to serve you Eggs, Pasta, Pizza and Fresh oysters.

As expected , the drinks menu was simply awesome and truly complimented our brunch.
Some of the best drinks we had here were Tia Amor, Perroni , krombacher , classic negroni, sangria and the house speciality passion fruit with beetroot sorbet.
