Restaurant Review : Kebab & Roti Festival at Golden Rice , Bangalore | India
When I think of Kababs and Rotis , I remember the good old days of Lucknow where Kababs are part of their culture and where most by-lanes in old Lucknow will lead to a kabab destination. My recent trip to the city of Nawabs was one such testimony of its culinary culture.
Coming back to my second home , Namma Bengaluru , I have seen the city evolving into the gourmet melting pot over the years and it has always been pleasure to be part of this wonderful city.
In an attempt to bring back the taste of Good Kababs and Rotis to the Bangaloreans , The Golden Rice Restaurant , has organised the “Kabab & Roti Festival “ at their outlet on Marathali Outer Ring road, where they have endeavoured to serve some of the best traditional and contemporary recipes from around India.
“The extravaganza that started earlier last week on July 6th ,will be on till 15th of this month for both lunch and dinner.”
Let’s see what is on the offer now.
Keeping vegetarians in mind , the festival offers lot of options for them.
Right from Cheesy Charred Broccoli marinated with garlic-mayo and served in cute papad cups to Mediterranean Paneer , (though I am still able to digest this one), the mushroom delicacy of Dhingri Ki Khaas that was among favourites here in fest along with the Khoya Khubani Kebab made of bananas, potato and dry fruits. But their claim to fame would be the Shaka-Laka-Lychee , the scrumptious lychees filled with jalapeno. Wait , I just forgot to mention their marinated grilled vegetables on tandoor , Bhuna Tandoori Tarkari.
This festival is feast for the meat lovers , as the menu is very promising with plenty of Non-vegetarian Kebabs. They have their take on tandoori fitters Chicken-Zucchini-Spinach Fritters , cheese loaded Chicken Cheesy Seekh for cheese lovers. And for those who love or crave for street food from old delhi , there is Chandni Chowk Tangdi , and then there is delectable Bhuna Tawa Gosht and world famous kababs from Lucknow , Mutton Galouti Kebab served here with same passion. The Fish lovers would certainly relish the Orange And Lemon Monk Fish and pan fried spicy Teekhi Machhi Tawe Waali , along with mouthwatering Tandoori Tiger Prawns and Crab cakes with pineapple sauce.
