Mahjong Room is back at WelcomHotel Bengaluru in a new avatar.

Name inspired from the tile based game developed during the Qing dynasty era in china that required immense levels of skill, strategy and calculation , Mahjong is the latest culinary addition to WelcomHotel in Bangalore. The chefs here celebrates the culinary richness of kitchens of Sichuan, Hunan & Cantonese kitchens of China.

The gourmet menu here is a exquisite rendition of “carefully curated, extensive Chinese alchemy of food highlighted by the precise skills of shaping, heating and flavoring.“

Our culinary excursion to the Dynasties of mythical China from the Mahoing epoch, began with Butterfly Pea Tea , the unparalleled infusion of petals of butterfly pea flower, dried lemongrass & mint that changes colour from blue to purple faster than a chameleon with addition of lemon juice drops. Sesame Prawn Toast , sesame crusted prawn croquette on toast served with green chilli dip were next , followed by Cantonese traditional dumpling, Chicken and Onion Sui Mai , and Chilli Pepper Chicken from Sichuan.

The choice worthy mains like Hot & Spicy Hunan Prawns and Sichuanese Gong Bao Chicken went well with our rice & noodles picks Chilli Garlic Noodles with Spring Onion and Mushroom and Corn Jasmine Fried Rice.The desserts we tried were not part of the menu and instead served to us for our feedback.
