Restaurant Review : Lady Baga – feel the Goan vibes in Bangalore | India
Goa has been one of my favourite beach destinations in India. Its vibes , the music , the shacks , food and drinks on beautiful sand beaches has a unforgettable charm of its own. The recently opened Lady Baga at Lavelle Road, Bangalore is here to provide the same nostalgia miles away from Goa.
PART BEACH SHACK. FULL HIPPIE – is what Lady Baga is all about.
The Bangalore’s first and only double-decker beach shack has an ambience that that is intensively Goan in mind, belly and soul. The vibrant interiors , with recreation of mini-sand beach scene , shack and a flea market with vibrant music and even live bands in the evening.
“The spirit of hippies and old Goa, of freedom, of liberty, of being able to do what you want in a world without racism, sexism, ageism, fascism, judgementalism, trollism; that Goa is what we wish for and miss. And that’s what we have tried to recreate at Lady Baga. Come for a Goan Sussegad. Our souls need it.” Says AD Singh, Managing Director, Olive group of restaurants.
The Food & Drinks at Lady Baga
The menu here resonates with the Goan shacks , that serve huge multi-cuisine menus these days. Chef told me that the aim is to serve beach shack classics of Goa and continental fare. The new menu that we tried is a testimony of their vision. Here’s what we we tried when we visited them last week.
