The decor of Ginseng will take back you a bit into the Chinese medieval era with its look and feel , you will find Grand Lord Buddha facing the entrance as you enter the place., with huge bone china artistic pillars on both sides.On the one of the walls, many metallic statutes perhaps inspired by the iconic Terracotta Army can be seen. Sharing the food on the table and chatting over the meals has always been cultural tradition in China and here there’s a big round table for the traditional Chinese meals.There is provision for a private dining area for small groups.

For a three of us , our Ginseng culinary experience included the following from the menu.

King prawns sautéed with chopped garlic, coriander root and chopped fresh red chilli

Sambal udang prawn

Indonesian-style prawn tossed in tangy shrimp sauce

Shanghai prawn with spring onion

Stir fried Chinese style prawn tossed in chilli pasta and sweet sauce with hint of soya

MAINS

Chilli basil noodle

Japanese sticky rice

Corn & potato Tsing Hoi style

Mixed vegetable in chilli coriander sauce

DESSERTS

Water chestnut served in chilled coconut milk

My Observation

Despite of long existence ,popularity and numerous awards, Ginseng continues to be a hidden gem for many in the city. I would recommend you too try wide variety of prawns dishes if you’re a seafood lover.The sushi & sashimi , the teppenyaki live counter is must try if you arrive here in a small group with prior reservation. Overall a great place for dining with loved ones or business dinner. Their bar menu has some exciting cocktails too that you can try with the meal.We tried Cosmopolitan and other from their Jeff’s menu.
