Restaurant Review : Dhaba Estd 1986 , Marathalli , Bangalore | India
The worthy descendent of legendary Dhaba that was once inside the famed Claridges hotel in Luyten’s Delhi , Dhaba Estd 1986 has made a mark for the the rustic street highway style north Indian cuisine in last few years.
Loud , bright and full of colours , reminding me rustic somewhat rural and with lot of art elements like that would bemuse the truckwallahs (the highway truck drivers) , and loads of filmy old posters and dialogues from the bollywood blockbusters on the walls. Some crazy looking nalka chandeliers, nimbu-mirchi lights etc make this place uniquely interesting. The loud Bollywood item numbers will definitely make your foot tap during your dining here.
Under the culinary guidance of Chef Ravi Saxena , the Dhaba menu focuses on the three areas namely the Tawa, Tandoor and Patiala with focus on some of the most loved rustic dishes like Dhaba Dal (highway favourite) , Kanastari Baingan (Baingan ka Bharta served in a copper canister), Dhaba Chilli Chicken and their signature Balti Meat.
